Sengerema Young Entrepreneurs http://www.mvrf.nl/sengerema-starterkapitaal-voor-jonge-entrepreneurs is established in 2008 and officially registered with Sengerema District Council as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in 2009. It is supported by a Dutch foundation. The main objective of SYE is to support youth to get (more) entrepreneurial skills and required start-up/growth capital (loans) for starting and growing their own micro-enterprise, so they can be able to sustain themselves and their young brothers and sisters.
The goal of the organization is to support young entrepreneurs by improving their access to finance and help them acquiring the necessary elementary skills for starting a business. They also aim to develop the local entrepreneurs climate by working together with local entrepreneurs organizations and local NGO’s. The board of the local organization is still quite new on the job.
The main objective of the foreseen internship is to support the Board of SYE to become a more sustainable business club for young entrepreneurs in Sengerema.
Main tasks:
1. Assist the SYE Board in developing a long term plan (business plan);
2. Support SYE Board in improving the cycle of planning & reporting;
3. Advise SYE-members on improving business profitability and pay-back performance;
4. Facilitate restructuring the Revolving Fund and improving the availability of start-up/growth capital for starting and growing business.
