S.A. Project timeline

The different activities put in timeframes that will eventually lead to the intended results.

In the attachment the timeline can be found, which gives a better understanding of the timeframes.

October:

  • Gaining sufficient understanding of the production process of biogas. Read all the information of the current group who is working in South Africa. Receive and read information about biogas digesters from Henry Spanjers, who is a biogas specialist.
  • Completing the business model for the farm of Takatso: 26 October. This is a business model canvas based on the scenario that the biogas installation is already built and functioning under the capacity of only the 150 cows of Takatso Mofokeng’s farm.
  • Completing project plan with the information of the current group and Takatso Mofokeng. Deadline: 30 October

 
November:

  • Start writing a log about every activities we have done. Such as: meetings, publishing reports.
  • Transferring knowledge between our group and the current group.
  • Getting to know the network which the earlier group and Takatso Mofokeng has established.
  • Using established networks to verify if our assumptions made in the Netherlands are correct. We will verify the production and the possible consumers.
  • Contact biogas system companies.
  • Contact biomas suppliers.
  • Contact institutions with comparable biogas digesters. For example, BOTALA Energy Solutions, ARC, Bio2Watt, Morgan Abattoir.
  • Start visiting universities and discuss biogas and follow up internship with professors.
  • Start with the preliminary design.

 December:

  • Correct any inaccuracies in the business model canvas.
  • Make the general business model for local farmers
  • Set up the information which will be told during the guided tours on the farm of Takatso Mofokeng.

 January:

  • Biogas awareness event on the farm for local farmers.
  • Visit universities and discuss biogas with professors.
  • Finish preliminary design for grant application.
  • Write internship report.
  • Establish agreements with biomass suppliers.
  • Finish short term internship plan for follow up group.

Eva and Steven will be responsible for the marketing and business plan.

Yonis and Job will be responsible for the technical details of the design of the biogas digester.
