The African continent has languages rom different language families. The biggest two are the Afro-Asiatic and Niger-Congo-Kordofian. Smaller are the Nilo-Saharan and the Khoisan families. Except for the latter, which are the click languages, they are all found throughout Kenya. There are 42 languages spoken in Kenya. The Bantu Swahili language, which is part of the Niger-Congo-Saharan family, and English are widely spoken.
In the area of Matunda, where we will be based, the Luo language is the primair language. This is part of the Nilo-Saharan language family. Most people will also speak English and Swahili so with some knowledge of these languages verbal communication is not expected to be a big problem.
