The most important factors in our risk table are risks around health, travel and security. Because we stay in a rural area, serious medical treatment is a few hours travel away. In Eldoret (40 km) there are better hospitals, together with a medical university. Daily health risks (like food poisoning) should be more common, but have not such a large impact, the most important thing is to stay hydrated. Security is important at night (everywhere). The bigger the city is, the more chances there are to be confronted with dangerous situations (street crime, robberies). To stay safe at night and prevent robberies we will not show openly our money or our telephone, we will stay together and we will not wander through the city at night. Lastly, traveling between cities on the bad roads in bad cars contains serious risks.
