African Trade

This article briefly explains issues evolving around African trade

For a long period of time the trade barriers that limit African international trade barriers have been criticized. Nevertheless, while on an international level these barriers are being reduced intra-African trade between neighboring countries causes significant issues, which are a huge burden to the growth of many countries in the region.

Overall, international trade barriers are reduced, nevertheless still limiting certain developing countries from trading partially because of incredibly high standards. The bigger issue is that intra-African trade remains unexploited. In comparison, Europe trade 60 % of its good within the continent, while in Africa many countries remain landlocked and African countries continue to import many goods from the outside of the continent.

Our project itself will not be affected by this trend as we are using the international trade to our advantage. Nevertheless, on the long term, the regional trade within Africa will influence entrepreneurial activity and economic growth and is one of the biggest challenges the region is facing.
