Insurance companies
It could be a possibility that the insurance companies will be buying the weather data from Farmerline as a sort of subscription fee. But at first sight the insurance companies are not willing to be part of this project, because they think that smallholder farmers are a big risk for their company. But when it is possible to convince the insurance companies that the possibility of harvest failure are getting less, after providing the farmers with the local weather forecast, it maybe will be worth a try.
Government
For the government the cocoa industry is very important, because it is the largest export product of Ghana. Therefore it could be very interesting for them if the cocoa farmers produce more cocoa beans and make the job of cocoa farmer more interesting. When it is possible to convince the government that it can be done with providing the farmers with the weather forecast of TAHMO. It would be fantastic, since the government has enough money for the project. Unfortunately, the government does not see the priority of the weather data yet.
LBCs
Also the LBCs could play a good part in this project, because both segments (LBCs and farmers) want to make more revenue. It could be that the biggest LBC in the surroundings is willing to pay for the weather data in that area. Or that different LBCs invest together for their revenue and of course the wealth of the farmers. In this case the LBCs can pay for the radio forecast by advertising after the radio block.
Cocoa farmers
At the end maybe cocoa farmers will be able to pay for the data, it needs to be researched during the journey in Ghana. But maybe when Farmerline is part of the risk, so an option could be that the farmers should pay a small percentage of the money as usage fee.
