Chapter 2

Towards a new Mobility System on Texel – Coexistence and interaction between locals and tourists

In this chapter, the goal of our team is to investigate on how the design of a sustainable system for mobility is influenced by the feeling of presence and the daily life from the user’s perspective. For this purpose, on the first paragraph we describe briefly how design for presence can be derived by diving into the users’ mind. After this, an extensive YUTPA Analysis comes to indicate which values affect the decision and mind-set of the users on the topic of mobility. This process lead to the creation of a design space. The design space consists of certain values that show potential for development of a sustainable mobility system in Texel. Consequently, on the third paragraph we have set our main objectives for mobility, which reflect the guidelines set from previously. The last step made in this chapter is the exploitation of the different stages that should happen to achieve the objectives of paragraph 3.
