Chapter 4: Design pathways

In this chapter two pathways of how to reach the sustainable future Texel are discussed and combined. For designing the pathways, the trends already described in chapter 3 were of a great relevance and basically led the way of designing.

Several important concepts of the future subsystem were already stressed out in our report. These are: sustainability awareness of entrepreneurs and customers (basically creation of a demand for sustainability), collaboration and knowledge sharing, independance and new ways of finance. As you will see these have a huge impact on the described pathways as they stand as the pillars of the envisioned future system.
