Let's say in 50 years i'll decide to take a trip to Texel as a tourist. A wild descision, since the traveling in 50 yeras will be so fast, I could go basically anywhere, perhaps even other planets. Even places I can't reach physically, I would visit virtualy. So why would I vist Texel? The beach wouldn't be so special anymore. I would probably go to Texel for the wildlife, preserved in a closed habitat. Perhaps the entire island is covered with a glass dome, so outside influences wouldn't have any effect on the wildlife.
To enjoy this wildlife, I would be transported into the dome to walk and play inside this nature area. I'm not only able to enjoy the current wildlife, but also the previous wildlife, such as prehistoric creatures. These creatures appear on a secluded part of the island and are created by means of DNA constructing and/or holograms. It would be truly a great sight.
The great thing about this dome is that there is full control of the weather conditions are on Texel. Some wildlife only appears in rainy conditions, so to enjoy them, we'll make it rain. As a tourist I wouldn't get wet, since I'm in a protected bubble, that makes sure I'm comfortable, but that I also don't affect the wildlife. This bubble could even make me invisible to all the animals, so I could get as close to them as possible.
I'm sure most people think about big metropolitan cities when they think of the future. However, I couldn't live without nature and I'm sure a lot of other people couldn't either. It's nice to now places as Texel still exist for mw to enjoy this nature to its fullest.
