Since 2014, Bambú Social does research on local building materials and opportunities in Nicaragua, resulting in the design and construction of a bamboo model house on site. The focus lies in sharing knowledge with the locals and helping them to improve their living standard.
This social housing project can be considered as an opportunity to solve the housing problems in Nicaragua. This will be an iterative process that will eventually meet its higher goal: contributing to the development of Nicaragua.
Bambú Social project should the proof that bamboo housing is feasible. Bamboo should become a standard building material and be adopted by the architects and universities, who are the engineers of the future.
Bambú Social 2.0 continues this project. With a new team, we'll do research on social housing and with the knowledge and experience of the past two years, we will adjust the design to the needs of the people from Nicaragua.
