Today was our first day at the Farmerline HQ as it is officially called. We wanted to arrive at 9 o’clock, as we did not know what time they would normally start. Today we visited a farm. Not a cocoa farm as we mentioned yesterday; a misunderstanding, we went to a vegetable farm of 7 farmers. They are using two services of Farmerline: the weather forecast and the market prices. The farmers were in a free trial phase and have to go to pay for the services from now on. Not that much though, only ¢22 per six months. In the afternoon we finally ate something…

This morning we had our first Skype meeting with Esther. It was fun to finally speak Dutch with other people again. Selcuk made a SWOT-analysis about Farmerline and its competitors. Evelien prepared for the coming meetings with the farmers and LBCs and illustrated the BMC and the SWOT-analysis. In the morning, we prepared a lot of questions that needed to be answered in order to get a better image of the planning of our project. We emailed them to Worlali and Amos and had a Skype meeting in the afternoon to discuss them. This was very amusing and useful. The rest of day, the internet was down so we could not do that much and therefore took off home an hour early to hand wash our clothes.

The Skype meeting we had yesterday, showed us what role we actually play in the eyes of Worlali. It may have been his enthusiasm, but he hinted that we should try to arrange meetings with the staff of important LBCs and Cocobod in order to pitch our idea, but at the same time create an opening to put Farmerline on the foreground. On Monday mornings it is usually hard to get up. Sjoerd experienced that in all its glory. After breakfast, we took a taxi 10 minutes to 9, perfectly on time. However, the taxi driver did not know the difference between left and right and he also thought that he knew a shortcut.
